Adaptation Nation

Tell No One by Phil GyfordWhen I was down in Charlottesville a few weeks back, I spent a happy evening at Vinegar Hill Theatre with my friend B. watching "Tell No One/Ne Le Dis a Personne," the French adaptation of Harlan Coben's novel. Director Guillaume Canet has taken a taut thriller and not only made it well, but made it European. It was such a pleasure to see women who looked beautiful and glamorous who were also aging naturally.

But I digress. My question for today, considering how much everyone out there is reading is this: Which books out there need to be made into movies immediately, if not sooner? I'd like to see The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue. How about you?

Yes - definitely The Stolen Child. That book was so vivid! I'd also love to see Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising series. I know they claim they made one of the books int o a movie, but trust me, I did not recognize that!
